Jersey Boys Alhambra Theatre Bradford – 21st July 2026

Jersey Boys at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford is a thoroughly entertaining production that combines an engaging true story with some outstanding musical performances. For someone who, like me, didn't know a great deal about the story of The Four Seasons before attending, the show was not only an enjoyable evening of theatre but also an opportunity to discover the journey behind some of the most recognisable songs in popular music.

From the moment the production began, the quality of the vocals was particularly impressive. The cast delivered the musical numbers with energy, confidence and passion, bringing the unmistakable sound of The Four Seasons to life on stage. The harmonies were a real highlight and captured the spirit of the original group, while the familiar songs provided plenty of moments for the audience to sit back and enjoy the music.

Luke, in the lead role, was a particular standout. His voice was exceptional, and he delivered a hugely impressive performance that made his character instantly engaging. His vocal ability was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the evening, and he brought a real presence to the role that helped carry the story forward. His performance of Frankie Valli's journey was both compelling and entertaining, making it easy to understand why Valli became such an iconic figure.

One of the things I enjoyed most about the production was the story itself. Going into the theatre without knowing much about Jersey Boys, I hadn't fully appreciated the fascinating journey behind The Four Seasons or the challenges the group faced along the way. The show provides an interesting insight into the relationships, ambitions and personalities that shaped the band's rise to fame, while also exploring how Frankie Valli ultimately emerged as the group's frontman and went on to achieve huge success. The story was told in four seasons, which I thought was a really clever way to do it.

The production strikes a great balance between the drama of the story and the sheer enjoyment of the music. While the songs are undoubtedly a major attraction, the narrative gives them a greater sense of meaning and context. Hearing these well-known tracks within the story of the people who created them makes the experience feel much more personal and gives the audience a greater appreciation of the band's remarkable journey.

There was a real sense of enjoyment from the audience throughout, particularly during the well-known musical numbers, with the energy on stage clearly matched by the enthusiasm in the theatre.

Overall, Jersey Boys is a hugely enjoyable production that delivers on every level. With impressive vocals, a talented cast, an engaging storyline and a fantastic collection of songs, it makes for a memorable night at the theatre. For me, the production was made even more enjoyable by discovering the story behind The Four Seasons and learning more about Frankie Valli's journey to becoming the group's iconic frontman.

A thoroughly entertaining evening and a production I would happily recommend to anyone who loves great music, fascinating stories and the magic of live theatre.
